One of my AP students bought me a skull (we just finished studying Hamlet) to apologize for not completing his final essay on the play (which honestly hurt him more than me 😂). But he felt he had let me down, & wanted to make sure I knew he appreciated what we had done in class! I named it Matthew after him. ☺️
I am most looking forward to my reading retreat with my bestie friend since 6th grade! Every year we get together and bring lots of snacks and go to her in-law's lake house when it's cold outside and just read and laugh and spend time together. The best!
Short term, I am looking forward to finally publishing recipes on my Substack. I’ve been gearing up to do it for a year, waiting for it to be perfect. Then I saw an Amy Poehler quote floating by somewhere on the internet, in which she said “I’m a huge advocate of doing things before you are ready” and now I’m just doing it.
In 2025, I look forward to working hard for my (elementary aged English Language learner) students, reading wonderful romance and other novels, learning from non fiction and spending lots of time outside. Thank you for all the Rosie instagram stories!
I've been looking for a new position after being unemployed for a year, and a friend out me in contact with one of her friends to apply for a job that I think is going to be a great fit! I'm looking forward to starting a new path in my career this year!
I’m most looking forward to getting married in October!!! We’re having a destination wedding and we can’t wait to celebrate with our close friends and family.
I went to a conference this week, and one of the attendees left little crocheted animals around the conference for folks to find/adopt. (The creator described it as a "experimental project in new materialist feminist rhetorical praxis," which I love, but also: it's CUTE.) I found a little blue mouse with enormous ears and I love him dearly.

OMG I love this.
Short term, I'm looking forward to eating pizza tomorrow night. It's the little things.

This is so great! I just finished a writing retreat with friends where we basically did just this but write too.

I’m finally getting top surgery after five years of waiting
I bought my first house (condo) as a mid-30s solo lady and am so excited to move in next month 😊
