How do you feel about a ROYAL HOLIDAY?
Hi friends! If you missed it yesterday, I got to announce and show the cover for my fourth book: Royal Holiday! Head to that link for more details and an excerpt! Thanks to Hello Sunshine for hosting the exclusive first look, and to Oprah Magazine.com for this interview about it! This book has been a lot of fun to write, and I hope it’ll be as much fun for you to read! It comes out on October 1, 2019, and I’d love for you to preorder! There’s a link to preorder at Amazon over at Hello Sunshine, but I have a bunch of other preorder links here at my website, and you can always call your favorite indie bookstore and order from them!
Also! I’ll be at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books this weekend, and I’m super excited about it! I’ll be on a panel with Alyssa Cole and Camille Perri, moderated by Erin Judge, and we’re going to have so much fun talking about romance. I hope to get to see lots of you there!
I just got back from a week in Hawaii (I left two days after sending the draft of ROYAL HOLIDAY to my editor, so I very much needed a break from my laptop) and I did absolutely nothing except for read a lot of books, drink a lot of cocktails, and swim a lot. It was a perfect trip, especially because I read SO many good books!!! I will dole out my recommendations over the next few weeks, but I have two for you today! First, you should all preorder Playing House, by Ruby Lang. It’s a delightful novella that comes out in August, with a fake relationship and real estate porn and two people who are each trying to figure their lives out. And on top of how relatable it all is, it’s super sexy too! Preorder here!
Second, Daisy Jones and The Six, by Taylor Jenkins Reid — everyone go buy and read this immediately! I expected to like this book, because I loved her last book, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but I didn’t realize it would grab me from the first page, and I wouldn’t stop reading until I’d finished the book a few hours later. It’s told like an oral history of a seventies rock band, and the whole cast of characters all feels so real and I was so invested in their lives and problems and bad and good decisions, and I cared about them all so much I was sad to finish the book.
No recipe today because I’m in transit, but I’ll make up for that next week!
Have a great weekend!
